Hawthorn North Scholastic Bowl Season and Post-Season Recap

How many of you out there reading this article actually pay attention to what happened to our Scholastic Bowl team? Well, I will tell you what happened. We had possibly our best season ever.
I will give you the outcome of each of our matches, what team we played, whether or not that team was in our conference, and severity of our win or loss, if possible. Antioch, non-conference, win. Grayslake, conference, win, 301'ed. (When a team reaches 301 or above points, the match edns. The more common ways are that we run out of 30 reuglar or 20 bonus questions.) Barrington Prairie, conference, win. Carl Sandburg, non-conference, win. Fox River Grove, conference, win, 301'ed. Lake Zurich North, conference, win. Carl Sandburg, non-conference, loss, 301'ed. Wauconda, conference, win. Barrington Station, conference, close game, lost by 4 points. Lake Zurich South, conference, loss. Hawthorn South, conference, won by 6 points. Matthews, conference, win, 301'ed.
Our final overall record was 9-3; 2-1 out of conference, 7-2 in conference. We entered our conference championship as the no. 2 seed, playing no. 5 seed Lake Zurich South and no.8 seed Fox River Grove. We crushed Fox River Grove, and played a close game against Lake Zurich South. We won that game, due to clutch playing by Robbie W. (myself) and Sam G. In the conference finals, we played no.1 seed Barrington Ststion and no. 3 seed Barrington Prairie. We beat Prairie, but lost to Station. We beat both Prairie and Station in sudden death, beating Prairie and crushing Station, forcing them to resign. We got a large traveling trophy. We were vasly underrated in our regional seed, which took our last 6 games. We had a 6 game win streak, and then went 3-3. We played Hawthorn South, Barrington Station, and Carl Sandburg in our region, losing to South but beating Station and Sandburg, whom we 301'ed. WE lost 26-18 against South and won 70-4 against Station, taking second in our region. I am hoping that next year we will be able to hold onto our trophy and win our region. GO NORTH!
