Many people don’t know the reasons for why strange brand names are named the way they are. Most of the reasons are that they are named after the names of the founders. Like the international favorite chocolates Hershey chocolates were named after the founder Milton Hershey who had used his last name for his creation. As well as the chocolates M&M’s which were named by the people who had created the chocolate that melts in your mouth and not your hand. Which were Forrest E. Mars, Sr. and Bruce Murrie. One other famous brand that is named for this reason is Levi Jeans. Levi Jeans got their name because the creator was named Levi Strauss and then the jeans part was added on since the people he made them for nicknamed them blue jeans. Like Levi Jeans, many designers use their names to name their brands like, Marc Jacobs, Calvin Klein,Kate Spade, and many more.

Some things are named for other reasons other then the names of the creators. Like how some names of brands can be picked by the creator and can name the brand for personal reasons. An example of that could be how Apple Inc. got it’s name, which was because the creator Steve Jobs had once worked on a community type farm in Oregon which gave him inspiration to named his company, Apple. Another example would be Avril Lavigne’s fashion line Abby Dawn, which was named that because her father had given her that nick name when she was younger. Other than Avril Lavigne many stars like Avril do the same thing can come up with special names for their clothing brands instead of just their names in print. Celebrities that do this as well are people like Selena Gomez who is the designer for Dream out Loud. So now it’s your turn to learn about the brands you wear or even eat, and think about their names and why they could’ve been named their name.
