Middle South

On the 18th of November, the 7th and 8th Grade Orchestra practiced all day with a select guest conductor, preparing for their performance that night. At the concert they wound play two pieces with Hawthorn North, and then two more pieces with Hawthorn Middle North, Vernon Hills High School’s Concert Orchestra, and Vernon Hills High School’s Philharmonic Orchestra. Mrs. Kocal did an excellent job preparing the group. On the night of the performance, our very own Middle South Orchestra play four songs including the popular song by Coldplay, “Clocks,” an American-Folk song called called “Follow the Drinking Gourd,” “Cincopations,” and “Warrior Legacy.” Following are performance was the Symphonic Orchestra, Philharmonic Orchestra, Concert Orchestra, and Jazz Strings form the High School. Overall it was a stunning performance by all of the orchestras. Great job!
