In seventh grade Language Arts, all students will read a book called The Giver. At first, when you read the book, you will most likely be very confused. Even the main character feels this way and he is actually there! Remember to keep in mind that confusion leads to learning! The main character is Jonas. He is very suspicious about his strict and confusing community of which he is a part of.

Casimir Pulaski was born on March 6th, 1745 and died on October 11th, 1779. He was a famous soldier and military commander. Review on Skyfall

Feb. 2013

Have you seen Skyfall, the newest of the James Bond movies?
The story starts with James Bond fighting with a guy that stole a disc that had all the agents and their identities on it. But when M tells his partner to shoot, well, the bullet misses its target and hits 007. You then see James Bond who is on an island and is hiding out. But, when it seems alright, M16 gets bombed and they don't know who did it. Afterwards, Bond comes back and has to get tested to be a field agent again. Even though he fails, M reinstates him as an agent because she knows that only Bond can stop the bad guy. So Bond goes on a mission to capture "Silver". Eventually Bond catches Silver, but Silver escapes! So Bond takes M to Skyfall mansion, where Bond grew up. It is there that a huge fight scene occurs. Now, I can't tell you the end, so if you want to know..... go see the movie.

December 2012

On Sunday, December 16th, the big cheer and pom competition, The Hawthorn Invitational, took place at Middle South. There was so much talent squished into a little three minute performance. Sadly, North just barely fell short to South. Even though a girl fell at South, they still managed to get 1st place. North got 3rd place, but it was still a great accomplishment because it wasn’t about winning, it was about being a team and they definitely accomplished that.

Parental Guidance
If you haven’t seen the movie Parental Guidance, then I urge you to see it. This movie is full of unpredictable surprises. Since families of today are very high-tech compared to our grandparents, it’s a little hard for grandparents to adjust to their kind of lifestyle. In Parental Guidance, there is this family. The dad invented this amazing house system.

If you didn’t see Breaking Dawn Part One...
The book series “Twilight” written by Stephanie Myers, is now a movie. Twilight came out just a few years ago, along with Eclipse and New Moon. Last autumn, Breaking Dawn Part One came out, leaving all of the viewers with anticipation Part Two. If you haven’t seen Part One, basically it’s about Bella choosing Edward Cullen (vampire) over Jacob Black (half wolfe). The two get married and have a baby. Because the baby is half vampire and half human, Bella is killed during the birth. When they are preparing for her funeral, she comes back to life as a vampire.
