You are walking down the hallway to gym class. So far your day has gone awesomely. You got a 93 percent on your difficult math test, your friend told you a funny joke, and now you get to go to gym to play your favorite sport. That's when you see that today is the day of all days: the day to run the mile! "NOOOOO!!!" I'll bet that almost everyone you ask is thinking that they don't want to run the weekly mile. It is then that we have to think about why we don't like running the race so much. Is it that we don't like to work up a sweat? Or possibly that we don't like the thrill of competition. It could be the merry thought that us kids are just too lazy. Now, don't get me wrong, I am not a huge fan of this run either, but what is the harm? Actually, this run helps us! It gives people a little exercise, a calm jog through the neighborhood on a breezy day, and a chance for kids to feel good about themselves when they beat their goal. So the next time that you have to run a mile in gym, just remember, it will be over in about ten minutes!
